We officially met over drinks and chuckled our way into easy, flowing, kind conversation. These two are both creative and passion-driven, and they’ve freaking bought a house and now they’re headed to the little white chapel.

*Le sigh* Love.

Anyways, we met over drinks to get to know each other and plan their engagement session. They wanted their shoot to represent them and what they love, so what better place than their favorite food truck in Austin? So they told us all about Patrizis and how bomb their food and location was, and I knew it was going to be a little slice of heaven. Patrizis is located in Butterfly Bar, and they were hosting a small independent film festival there, so we weaved around guests, a big tent, and made our way into a small, eclectic greenhouse looking building around the corner of the grounds, where there were some, ahem, phallic little creatures waiting. It wasn’t until several minutes into shooting in that building did Reba say, “Are those… penis butterflies?” They were in fact just that. So we got a laugh and played with the light in there. You gotta roll with the punches, people.

After we were done shooting, Reba & Adam’s friends showed up to celebrate them over dinner and drinks. I felt like a fly on the wall at a family meal; hearing everyone tell stories, joke, and reminisce on antics past. They were all so beautiful. You could tell Reba & Adam attract the people they already are: kind, creative, family-motivated, real human beings. I’ll forever be grateful for the people this job brings my way. Creating art for Art. There’s nothing better.
